Everything in venture capital is impacted time, terms and decisions. The time and cost of modeling the impact of any of these has traditionally been a barrier to knowing. More importantly, think of the last time you simply pushed a planned financing date ahead 8 months, or assumed an exit occurred in 24 months from now as opposed to 3 years from now and saw immediately how your fund and every other fund in a deal would be affected.
